My name is Linda, I lost my husband Peter age 40 after he was prescribed Fluoxetine. I think he was suffering from post natal depression at the time, because we had a new born son. He became very focussed on suicide suddenly, which in retrospect was because he’d stopped taking the drug.

He never admitted he’d been prescribed Fluoxetine & I found the pills in his work briefcase after his death.

I went to our family doctor asking for help, for him to talk to Peter, but because of patient confidentiality he never told me my husband was taking antidepressants. The GP did nothing. He hung himself a week later.
