I'm Lorita and I had my life stolen from me in November 2013 when I tried to take the life of my two young children and myself in Virginia Beach, USA by overdosing the three of us with prescription drugs that my family doctor prescribed for me when I was dealing with some anxiety and had difficulty sleeping.

After being on the SSRI antidepressant citalopram for two weeks while I was already taking Elavil, Wellbutrin, Ativan and Ambien, I became psychotic and thought my husband was going to seriously hurt our children and myself, which makes no sense to me today. I was charged with two counts of first-degree attempted murder. At my trial in June 2015, I was judged to be Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity (NGRI). Now, just over a year later, I'm a forensic inpatient at Eastern State Hospital in Williamsburg, Virginia.

With no history of violence or being in trouble with the law prior to my SSRI-induced criminal offence, I'm working hard to get released at my next hearing in January 2017 so I can be a mother again. I love and miss my children very much!
